CDS即信贷违约掉期(Credit Default Swap)(或信贷违约互换)是一种金融衍生品,是一种对风险的保险。
在信用违约互换交易中,违约互换购买者将定期向违约互换出售者支付一定费用(称为信用违约互换点差),而一旦出现信用类事件(主要指债券主体无法偿付),违约互换购买者将有权利将债券以面值递送给违约互换出售者,从而有效规避信用风险。由於信用违约互换产品定义简单、容易实现标准化,交易简洁,自90年代以来,该金融产品在国外发达金融市场得到了迅速发展。
甲向乙申请贷款,乙为了获得利息而借钱给甲,放贷出去的钱总有风险(如甲破产,乙的利息和本金全没),那么这时候丙出场,由丙对乙的这个风险予以保险承诺,条件是乙每年向丙支付一定的保险费用。如万一甲破产的情况发生,那么由丙补偿乙所遭受的的损失。信贷违约掉期(CDS)就是其中的保险费用。
CDS怎么看?
信贷违约掉期的本质是一种金融衍生产品,可以说是一种保险产品,是华尔街非常有头脑的人想出来的。具体来讲,发生在乙和丙之间的信贷违约掉期交易类似于乙与丙签订保险合同,乙通过这种合同将债务风险转嫁,合同价格就是保费。当债务违约几率上升时,这种“保费信贷违约掉期(CDS)”就上涨。
信贷违约掉期(CDS)指数的变动常常以基点衡量,如果说,希腊CDS上升,表明希腊违约的风险增加,市场情绪可能受压,股市可能下跌等等;如果CDS回落,表明违约风险下降。
